Bed-by-bed logging with a real grain-size profile, standard lithology fills, sedimentary structures, contacts, fossils and sample ties — plus true thickness computed from the apparent thickness, the slope and the dip, which is the arithmetic that quietly corrupts half of all measured sections. Publication SVG out.
Leave slope and dip at zero if you taped the bed perpendicular to bedding. Otherwise this is the number that belongs in the log — not the tape reading.
Beds stack upward in the order you add them. Log from the base of the section.
